Twitter Chat: Melanoma and Immunotherapy

May 18, 2015

let's chat immunotherapy and melanoma on May 19, 2015 at 4 p.m. EST with hashtag #ImmunoChat

Join Cancer Research Institute (@CancerResearch), The Answer to Cancer (@TheA2C), and the Melanoma Research Foundation (@CureMelanoma) as we discuss the latest in immunotherapy for melanoma on Tuesday, May 19, at 4:00 p.m. ET. Participate in the conversation, or just listen in, by searching #ImmunoChat, and using the hashtag in all your tweets.

Never joined a Twitter chat? At its most basic, a Twitter chat (or a tweet chat) happens when a group of users log on to Twitter at an appointed time to discuss a particular topic. A hashtag is used to flag the conversation as separate from the general conversation.

Twitter chats have become a staple in the world of online cancer support communities. As a former breast cancer patient, I personally participate in Breast Cancer Social Media (#bcsm) on Monday nights, which focuses on different topics around breast cancer. Lung Cancer Social Media (#lcsm) is another popular chat that occurs every other Thursday. Some Twitter chats happen regularly, like #bcsm, others are sporadic, and others are one-time only.

Not on Twitter yet? It’s easy! Hop over to Twitter and make an account.

So join us. You can just watch if you want, or feel free to jump in with questions or to share your own experience. Hope to see you there!
