Robert Stolar is a Managing Director, Private Wealth Advisor, and serves as Head of the Family Wealth Group within Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. In this role, he guides financial & investment planning, estate & family succession planning, philanthropic advisory, and administrative services. With over three decades of experience and expertise, he has extensive knowledge of the Ultra High Net Worth market. He has also earned various distinctions within the wealth advisory community, including recognition by Barron’s as one of the top advisors in the country.
Prior to 2010, Mr. Stolar served as President of Morgan Stanley Trust, N.A. and oversaw the Family Wealth Group in the same capacity that he does today. Before joining Morgan Stanley in June 2007, he held a variety of positions with broad responsibilities at US Trust Company in New York: Senior Financial Planner and then Manager and National Head in the Financial Planning department, Head of Financial Consulting in the Family Wealth Group, and Principal and National Head of the Multi-Family Office Group. Prior to US Trust, Mr. Stolar was a Senior Manager with Price Waterhouse in their International Assignment Tax Services Group. He started his career in 1986 at Weston Financial Group, a large regional Financial and Investment Planning firm based in New England.
Mr. Stolar earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois, a law degree from Quinnipiac University, and an LLM in Taxation from Boston University.
