The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) assembles a team to run the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon. Beginning in June, CRI will open registration for its 2022 charity team. Requests to join Team CRI are reviewed and approved on a rolling basis until all entries have been claimed. Entry is limited and allocated based on full completion and agreement to the charity’s registration process and requirements.

WHY TEAM CRI?
Team CRI runners and donors help raise critical funds for highly promising cancer immunotherapy research all around the world. Last year, through the generosity of our supporters, CRI awarded almost $30 million to scientists at the world’s leading academic institutions, helping to create a future immune to cancer.
The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is the world's leading nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to harnessing the immune system's power to conquer all cancer. Because of the pioneering research we have funded for over 65 years, cancer immunotherapy today is no longer a dream held by a determined few. New treatments based on decades of discovery are extending and saving the lives of some patients with some types of cancer. Join our team and help us make this a reality for all patients, with all types of cancer, sooner.
Benefits of becoming a registered Team CRI runner include:
- Guaranteed race entry
- Personal online fundraising page
- Access to fundraising tips and support
REGISTRATION
To become a registered Team CRI runner, you must commit to fundraising a minimum of $3,000 due in full before November 6, 2022.
In addition to the fundraising pledge, Team CRI runners are responsible for paying an entry fee directly to the marathon organizer, New York Road Runners in order to secure a slot in the race. Entry fees vary based on NYRR membership status ($255 (member) and $295 (non-member)).
What if I don’t reach my fundraising minimum?
If you do not reach your fundraising minimum by the deadline, CRI will charge the balance as a donation to the credit card provided on your registration form.
What if I cannot participate after I register?
Every team member who officially registers and obtains an entry through Team CRI is committed to reaching their fundraising minimum by the deadline regardless of any situations that may arise. Monies fundraised will not be refunded and entries cannot be transferred by runners following the deadline(s).
These entries are vital fundraising opportunities for the Cancer Research Institute, which is why we ask everyone to commit to their fundraising goal when we assign the race entry to their name.
