Sharon Slade is the chief marketing officer for the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and oversees the planning and execution of CRI’s overall marketing and strategic initiatives to support the organization’s mission and brand.
Prior to this role, Sharon was the director of strategic initiatives at CRI, leading corporate engagement, partnerships, and new strategic programming. She spearheaded strategy, fundraising, and programming for CRI’s Answer to Cancer Patient Education Program and Cancer Immunotherapy Month, an awareness month reaching over 2 million people. Sharon is the architect of CRI’s new Health Equity and Diversity initiative and programming, and she leads a cross-functional employee resource group with the goal of creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
Prior to joining CRI, Sharon served in a number of executive marketing roles, including U.S. vice president of marketing and training for CHANEL’s Fashion Division, global vice president of marketing and strategy for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts (Marriott), and chief marketing officer for Bleachers, where she developed a new smartphone app for private schools. Sharon also has extensive consulting experience developing growth strategies for lifestyle, fashion, and luxury brands. Her early career included marketing and business development roles at General Mills and Marketing Corporation of America.
Sharon is an active member of Women in Development-New York and Women at Dartmouth. Recently she served as the chairman of Davidson College’s Parent Council, a fundraising and community-building organization.
Sharon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Colgate University and received a Master in Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
