Marla Lawson joined CRI in August 2012. As Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, she is responsible for all of CRI’s current and prospective foundation donors, as well as charitable support from CRI’s corporate partners. Before joining CRI, Marla had a successful 15-year career in corporate finance, working for such prestigious firms as J.P. Morgan, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. Marla’s strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills benefit her in her role at CRI, as well as her affinity for working with all types of people.
Marla holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business, as well as a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Penn State University. In her spare time, Marla is an accomplished amateur pianist, a competitive bridge player, and an avid fan of travel, baseball, and the performing arts.
Marla is deeply committed to the search for effective treatments for cancer, having lost several friends and family members to various forms of the disease, and witnessing the suffering that goes with it.
I truly believe that within my lifetime, we can control cancer with the power of the immune system. I want to do everything in my power to make that happen.
