Since graduating from Smith College in 1962, Margot Eisner Freedman has devoted her efforts to charitable causes in the areas of medical research, care for the elderly and arts education.
She has been involved at every level of operation at the The New Jewish Home including sitting on the Central Board, the Sarah Neuman Board for one of the individual campuses, as well as the Long Range Planning Committee, Compensation Committee, and Development Committee.
Ms. Freedman was a member of the board of the Irvington Institute of Immunological Research from 1997 until its merger with the Cancer Research Institute in 2007. At the Irvington Institute, she was deeply involved in the postdoctoral fellowship program, establishing a fellowship in her mother’s name.
Since 1990, Ms. Freedman has been a docent at the Whitney Museum of American Art and served on the Education Committee.
She joined the CRI board in October 2007.
